What readers are saying

“There is no individual with a warmer heart than Marney. I am blessed to know someone who cares so much about the development and well-being of others and their community. She is an ideal person to share life lessons that apply to all businesses and walks of life. I found the entire work authentic and honest and, in particular, was struck by the simplicity and applicability of Start with the Give-Me Shots. This book will be shared with all our athletes as a reminder to connect with the core of who we are, work on the fundamentals, and take time to reflect, every day.”

“Every once in a while, a book gets down to the basics of how to be successful and does so in a way that’s memorable, authentic, and thought-provoking. Start with the Give-Me Shots is one of those books. Follow the eight simple and easily applicable lessons Marney outlines in the book, every day, and there’s no question you’ll be the best version of you.”

— Matt Blumberg
CEO of Bolster; Author of Startup CEO

“Marney Andes’s ability to communicate with people without intimidating them is a true gift. I love how she took lessons she learned from her dad and applied them to business. She humanizes what could otherwise be just another ‘how-to be successful in business’ book—I felt like I could see and hear her dad, but it also took me back to moments with my own parents and the lessons they taught me. This is such a cool angle for a business book, and the eight core lessons in Start with the Give-Me Shots will serve as a guide in this next chapter of my career. My team members will get a copy as well.”

  • “As someone who is Brooklyn-born and a “dyed in the wool” east coaster, let me reassure you, Marney’s home-grown lessons, inspired by her dad, resonate beyond the fields of Nebraska. In fact, you’d be remiss if you don‘t take the time to sink into this book.”
